Notes to My Daughter Box

As Hannahlily was growing up I gave her lots of notes. Some of them are kept in this box. They were always in my handwritting.

This is a set of quote picture tags. I would put one in her lunch that she took to work. Picture: Henry with his typical worried look. The quote: "Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's trouble, it empties today of it's strength."
Picture: Hannahlily and Brent on a ride at Dollywood. Quote: "55% of what you communicate is nonverbal."

Picture: Hannahlily and I on a trip to St. Louis. Quote: "Does any human being ever realize life while they live it, every minute?" Emily (she was dead) said it in Thorton Wilder's play Our Town.

Picture: Hannahlily and Henry. Quote: "Always remember to be happy because you never know who's falling in love with your smile."

I bought this larger box today for her notes.

Wow. I'm silenced by wonder and awe. If everyone had a Shelly, the world would be an infinitely better place.
